Attempting a new schedule.
At Starbucks, I’m an opener, which means I get up at 3:30AM to shower before work. I am a night owl, but I asked for earlier shifts to spend time with Joe. So every afternoon, I avoid taking a nap for two reasons: 1. I hate how I feel after naps. 2. I may never go to bed early enough after a nap for my next opening shift.
I am, as of the last half-week, attempting a shorter pre-work sleep time of about 5 hours, so that I don’t go to bed at 9:30, which to me, as a night owl, feels like punishment. Then I come home after work and sleep for another two hours after I’ve wound down.
All of this means that you, the internet, can’t be effing DEAD by 10PM Mountain Standard Time. It’s making me feel like I’m wasting my time awake, even though I’d probably choose to be awake anyway.
So yeah, um, I’m drinking whiskey and otherwise having a very British day. Also, I started a new single-serving blog, which I am really looking forward to (/to which I am really looking forward).
