  2. GPOYW: Mousketeer edition! I am really pleased with how this point-camera-at-self-and-shoot shot came out! It was taken right after I got my first real mouse ears since I was 4 years old. I went for the old-timey ones because they are so damn classy, without being boring. I also remember exactly where I was standing… on the promenade in front of the Rivers of America, just south of where you board the raft to the island.
I really need to write up a trip report so I don’t forget how awesome vacation was.

  4. Not sure how I this translates, but my favorite photos of me from this trip (well, not all my favorites, but the ones that stand out in my mind) are when I’m holding a drink.

  5. Disneyland was a major success! I didn’t get as many photos as I’d have liked, but I’ll still be posting plenty over the next few days.  Here we are in Critter Country, right around the corner from where you meet Winnie the Pooh.

I’m about to go on a little adventure. This song is awakening my excitement and nervousness and joy!

  7. 7 Days to Go —> Big Thunder Mountain. I love this photo Mandy got of Joe and me on this rollercoaster! I always hoot and holler like I’ve never been on it before, which other passengers have made fun of me for. I have no shame!

  8. Holy crap, talk about forced perspective! I am principally against the idea behind Cars Land, but goodness gracious, it looks like it going to be gorgeous. And Disney has really perfected how to make forced perspective work over the years.

  9. Starbucks at Disneyland!

I have a scoop, thanks to Mel pointing it out to me at work!

There was a press release yesterday put out by Starbucks and the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.  We have easy access to it on our portal computer at work. Six new Starbucks cafes will open at the various Disney parks, including one at the newly renovated Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street this summer.

“At Disney California Adventure, Starbucks will be located in the Fiddler, Fifer and Practical Cafe on Buena Vista Street, a place that transports guests to 1920s Los Angeles when Walt Disney arrived in California and a cup of coffee was the perfect way to jumpstart a busy day. The store’s location plays off the Spanish/Mexican architecture of the period, and baristas will wear 1920s-inspired attire.”

Okay, peace out Los Alamos, I’m going to be a barista for Disney now, kthxbye.

14 Days to Go —> Under-promoted Disney films. Personal opinion time: Disney tends to promote certain movies over others. The revival-era films are woefully underrepresented, especially The Lion King. I was really pleased to come along this mosaic of Disney guests that made up a still of Simba and Nala.

15 Days to Go —> Early Entry. One of the best parts about buying multi-day parkhopper tickets means you get an early entry! Little did we know, early entry wasn’t as “early” as we were prepared for, which is a shame. Mandy and I would’ve slept during that time. Nonetheless, it was wonderful being there before any other guests.

16 Days to Go —> Celebrate! Mandy and I will be there to celebrate her 26th birthday. When she was young, she made some prediction that she wouldn’t make it past 25. I am really hoping she makes it, because most of this trip is already paid for.

  13. 20 Days to Go —> Rain at Disneyland. A few rainy days at Disneyland means you ride any ride you want to, as many times as you want. Only problem is that neither of us had much in the way of weather-proof clothing at the time. Much hot chocolate was had.
