I really need to go take a lot more photos. Feel like I’m running on empty here.

As usual, being around both Joe and Zack means having a wonderful adventure; even when I really don’t want to! I’ve been very sick with a cold and dealing with the side effects of being on prednisone, and therefore basically couldn’t breathe all weekend. We were supposed to go on a llama hike for Joe’s birthday on Saturday, but it was cancelled due to some particularly inclement weather.
Still, we had reservations for a hotel in Taos, so we drove through the sleet and hail from Los Alamos to Taos Saturday morning. We ate good food at different establishments, but all of Saturday’s weather was just miserable. When we woke up Sunday, the weather only required two layers of clothing and there was snow on the mountains. So we decided to go up to the Taos Ski Valley village and see what there was to do. It’s pretty empty until Thanksgiving day, when the ski season officially opens, so we were some of the only people around hiking in- in some places- up to a foot of snow!
My converses definitely could not handle this. Nor could my lungs. However, we got wet and gross and loved every minute of it. It was gorgeous up there, and I know we’ll be back after Thanksgiving so the guys can ski!
I’m really thankful for adventures. I love that Joe and Zack are naturally inclined to seeking out new, awesome things to do. In four years with Joe, I’ve been so many places, seen so many new things, and enjoyed life so much more than I have in four years with anyone else (except perhaps my parents, and it’s still a competition). Thanks go out to whatever higher being or cosmic establishment that got me to this!

I simply adore foxes these days. I think they’re in my top 5 favorite animals.
