Oh, hello spring!  I feel like, with the constant flashes of cold here in northern New Mexico, I am constantly re-welcoming spring.  Goddammit, let’s just have more of these little flowers all over town and get our green!

I take a lot of photos of sunlight through the trees, so I just wanted to point out how weird the lighting is in this. If the lighting is in fact all natural, the mid-distance lighting to make the trees look light on this side is coming from something strange.  Still, I like this shot.

Love the sunlight in the mountains. Sunlight through clouds and tree canopies… that’s how it should be.

To give you better sense of the color of the place…
More late fall in the Bosque.  Albuquerque, NM.  November 2011.
ETA: But again, I think a larger view is necessary.

Late fall at the Bosque; cottonwoods lining the Rio Grande.  Albuquerque, NM.  November 2011.
Note: best viewed in larger size… I was dismayed when I posted it just now on Tumblr and the leaves make it look terribly pixelly!

I kind of liked the lines the aspens were creating here.  I long for a flat forest to get one of those generic uber-straight line perspective shots.  Is that weird?  Uhhh… I’m being ironic.  Yeah.
